'88 240 Wagon Idle to Gear Stall Issue
Hi! I've got a '88 240 wagon and have been experiencing an issue where if I start the car and immediately put it into gear, it stalls. If I wait 1-2 minutes, it's fine and runs great, no issues.
A friend told me to try cleaning the idle air intake and throttle body. I also noticed that the air intake hose has some tape on it and perhaps it has a leak and should be replaced which could be causing the issue. Lastly, the only other theory is something with the oxygen sensor.
Anyone have any advice or experience with a similar issue?
Thank you!

yeah, leaking idle air hoses would definitely cause a problem, and tape is a lousy temporary fix.
the O2 sensor has nothing to do with this, it only fine tunes the gas-air mixture to ensure clean burning.
