Default '89 740 B230F tuner

I've seen a tuner for the Turbo cars, but not for the N/A cars. Do they exist?

If you're referring to the head units available, there was no turbo-specific sound system. There were a variety of systems used. In my opinion they all are lacking...an aftermarket one for $75 is tons better.

I think he is referring to a performance chip/tuner to increase engine performance, not a radio tuner.

Hence my use of the word "If". There is a third possibility...he could be referring to a fish...

Yeah, I was referring to engine management tuning. I got fairly proficient at it with an OBD-2 General Motors L67 supercharged car. Managed a 35+HP improvement with a few keystrokes. I'd like to help my old 740 with 303,100 miles to do better on fuel mileage and power.

HiTuning chips mail from Sweden. Plan on 2-4 weeks. Very reliable people.

These chips are burned state side by Mike Brown (thelostartof).
I've used both in turbo cars. I've heard they are good in n/a cars but the only real mods I have done w/ na redblocks is to remove them and replace 'em w/ a V8 or turbo motor. Go to TB and pm Mike. He might take a day or two to respond...he's quite busy.

This has been discussed on several forums. The cost of very mild gains N/A with the redblock are very high, the best bang for the buck is buying a complete factory turbocharger setup.
The cheapest way to do this is buy a complete, mechanically good but otherwise trashed 740 Turbo. On the LH 2.4 controlled cars, it is very cheap and easy to go from 160 to 220hp.

Regards, Andrew.

I'd love to do a turbo upgrade, or a full blown SBF swap. Neither are cost justifiable, unfortunately. How do I know what fuel system I have? I know I have a Bosch ignition.

You'll spend minimum several hundred dollars chasing 15hp at he most on an NA redblock. It is a serious waste of money.

Regards, Andrew.
