89 volvo trans swap need help
um, the carb would go on the intake manifold, AFTER the turbo, where the throttle body is currently.... and I haven't seen or heard of a super or turbo charged car with CARBERETORS since the early 1970s, getting the fuel-air mixture right across the whole range of RPM and boost pressure would be a rather challenging problem. get it too lean, and burn holes in your pistons.
Yes and 90% of cases you are right. That's called blow through it there is also draw through where the gas out of the carburetor goes into the turbo gets compressed and then goes into the intake. I'm just trying to find a way to be able to tune the car. Do you guys know of any standalones that are plug and Play I guess? I'm just trying to figure out a way to do it
I guess my point is that if Volvo didn't ship any LH2.4 cars with the M46, then the flywheel out of the 740 wouldn't have the speed sensor thus making that flywheel unusable. That would imply that only M47 flywheels have the speed sensor. Is there anyone that can confirm this?
@Stephenstaly - Can you tell if the 740 flywheel has the speed sensor cutouts?

the lh 2.4 flywheels have holes all the way around them with one hole doubled up (or is it skipped?) as the TDC marker.
I *thought* there were some LH 2.4 turbos with M46 manuals, maybe just in RoW.

A machinist *could* drill a LH2.2 flywheel if they knew the number of holes around the circumference and to leave one out... it probably would have to be balanced after drilling, since the missing hole would throw it off some (see that divot at 7:30 oclock on the top face, and a smalle one at 9 oclock? those are from balancing). they probably could use the existing flexdisk as a reference for the positioning, diameter, and depth. looks like there's about 60-1 holes around the perimeter, but thats just guessing from counting the visible holes between two of the 6 threaded bolt holes

Actually you know what crazy things happen out of the random sometimes I just had a guy contact me that has a ton of computers on the shelf. Would you happen to know what number I need for the LH 2.2 turbo model?
That's a great thought but I highly doubt the wiring harness will be the same.
here's a list of all the ecu and icus. Oh, 2.2 used a different MAF too.
