Default 90 740 wagon Interior upholstry

The interior roof upholstry of my 90' 740 wagon came unglued and has sagged to the point where it is almost touching the top of my head!

Additionally, the glue that was used to keep the cloth in place has dried up and disintegrated to the point where if I open the windows the air movement causes the interior to be full of glue particles! Are there places to reupholster the interior? Or is it even worth it?

Has anyone else have this problem?

Thanks!

this isn't unusual.... any upholstery shop should be able to repair it. just look in your local yellow pages... pricing may be a bit hefty, so be prepared.

These headliners are a problem with 740/940 until 1991. Afterward they are much better. Best bet is to get a used one from a JY for around $20 and remove it and replace it yourself. Wagons are easier as the liner just slides out the back--sedans are a little trickier to get out without breaking the shell. Make sure you get one from a car 1992 and newer, 740 interchanges with 940. Shops will charge 200-300 and up, and if you go that route make sure they use 1/8 inch material. Also, IPD sells a kit...
