Default '91 740T OD solenoid bypass replacement?

I've read the threads describing how to remove the existing OD solenoid and replace it with the bypass unit but it all sounded so simple "it can be done in 15 minutes" Well, after trying yesterday afternoon, I maybe missing someting but I could not get my hand and wrench in the same space. What is the trick to the 15 minute R&R method - need your help!!

First of all, most folks downplay the difficulty they had performing a particular operation. Youngsters do it because they wish to be perceived as competant. Us old folks do it because we have forgotten what a PITA it was!. I've never swapped one in frankly but I've replaced a solenoid or two in my time and they're bigger than the bypass plate. It's all done by feel. After ascertaining the o-ring is in place, I put one bolt through the base of the solenoid, in your case the bypass, and set it all in place tightening the bolt finger tight or at least getting it well started and then do the other side similarly. As I recall, it's a 2 MF, 3 GD job.

I think I surpassed the quota on MF & GD's by more than a few. I ended up having to use a bottle jack to support the trans while I removed the trans support bracket - then lowering the trans so I could access the solenoid. A very big PITA.
