Not sure if this is just a characteristic of 240 transmissions but 1 out of 4 times when i move from part to drive or to reverse it clunks. Not loudly or abruptly, but enough to notice it. Is there something wrong? becuase i remember my 88 240 did the same thing too.

 

Typically, it isn't the transmission, it's bad U joints. Weak, sagging motor and transmission mounts will cause it too.
