92 740 Heater Hose Question.
Hello, and thanks for looking.I hate too make my first post, one of desperation,but...
I did a search first on heater hose, and came up with 5 pages of results, but, none helped me so here I am asking a prolly dumb question. But,,It's info I don't have..lol
Ok,,There is a hose on the rear of the head under the intake, that goes down too the heater control valve, then into the firewall.
How the heck do ya get too that hose on the head?
Is there a specific procedure to get at it? Things to take off as in supports or something..I can't even see it very much..lol
I know it's there and the hose blew out just past the clamp.
Listen any help as far as info,or pictures or photos would be a great help..I don't have a manual or book for this 740 to go by..As I said,I can't realy see the hose fitting on the head.To have soo much room underhood, they sure placed this hose in a hard to get at spot.lol
Thanks again for looking, and any replies..

Well,thanks Ted.
I guess it's off to the parts house for a gasket set..I just kinda figured in the 17 views to this post, that maybe one would be a line mechanic that had a short cut for this little problem..lol But,,with only the one reply,,I guess it's either not a good enough subject,,or it's a sore one..lol...
Thanks for posting Ted,,Preciatit !

One heater hose is under the intake manifold, as mentioned. Remove the manifold for access. The other heater hose attaches to the heater return pipe alongside the exhaust manifold. Best to disconnect the hose at the firewall and remove the red heater pipe in order to attach a new hose at the rear. But then you've got the seal at the water pump to replace as well.
Ok well thanks for the replies.
Job is now complete.Turns out the thermostat was stuck closed, and was the true problem causing the overheating and the hose blowing out..
All finished now,,new intake gasket,new hose,new thermostat..
Thanks again !
