I have a 92 740 turbo wagon (4 cyl Gas) and on a trip this weekend the raditor sprang a leak and I am going to have to replace it. I have priced them at around $120 - $140 which I believe is about the going price where ever I look. My question is is it very difficult to do and is there anything special I need to do when replacing it. I have replaced radiators on vehicles before but they were all older cars and it has been years ago. The place I was going to purchase the radiator said it was easy but I wanted to check here on the forums with some experienced volvo owners. Any help is greatly appreciated.

 

It is very easy and straight foward.
Also replace the thermostat.

 

Check your hoses out too.

Bend em between your fingers and look for fine cracks.

 

Thanks for the replys guys. Got the radiator and thermostat today and it only took about 45 minutes for the whole job. Checked the hoses as well but they are all good.

 

The only problem I have now is the check engine light is on and I cannot remember how to reset it
