Default 93 240 alternator output

tested output from battery and alternator, it's at 13.1 on both locations. Noticed last night that my battery light was dimly lit. My question is should I replace alt. with a reman bosch, or replace regulator. I had the brushes replaced about a year ago. Thank You, Richard. p.s. it should be around 14.5 ,correct?

Could be around 13.7-8... I'd replace those brushes again.
Does the BAT light go off when you rev it up?

brushes shoudl last a LOT longer than a year. I'd pull the brush assembly and inspect it... if they are badly worn, then its likely the contactor rings in the alternator are rough and it needs a proper rebuild.

remanufactured alternators are all over the place in quality. many places just clean them, slap new brushes on them and do a quick test, if they are working they box them up and sell them. the better rebuilds crack them open, inspect the bearings and commutator rings and replace anything worn.

one thing, when you tested at the alternator, did you put your volt meter black lead on the alternator body, or an engine/chassis ground on the car? my daughter's 240 wasn't charging, turned out to be the ground wire was not making good connection even though it /looked/ fine. when I measured from B+ to the alternator chassis, there was the 14V I expected, B+ or battery + to the chassis ground or battery - was around 13V.
