93 240 Rear Cam Plug (seal)
Found plugged line from throttle body to flame trap, repaired. But blew out rear cam plug. Does plug just push in? Read somewhere that rear cam cap has to come off to replace seal. Looked on back of head, it's just a circle with end of cam showing. If the new one needs to be pushed in, does it go in flat side towards cam or the lip side towards cam?

You should just be able to lube it up and press it in. If it really came down to it, you would just have to pull the valve cover, not the rear cam cap, to get it to seat well. IPD sells a retaining plate. I have one in my engine, but not sure that it even does much of anything when the plug has been installed properly.
Plug does just push in, but it's much easier if you pull the rear bearing cap. It then just drops in, and the cap squeezes it a little as it's bolted down. I'm ordering the IPD retainer just in case, if the flame trap or related tubing clogs, pressure can build up and pop it out...
