93 240 valve adjustment tool advice.
Made a typo it is a 1993 240.
I know the search function is your friend but I have been unable to find out which tool is the preffered tool and where to purchase one.
I found a thread where a company will rent you a box with the shims and tool for 60 dollars but would like to just buy the tool. 24,000 miles comes around quick in Houston.
I have found several threads about changing the timing belt and seals but not much on valve adjustment procedure and the tools needed.
Thanks for any advice.

Do they send you the tool and shims or just the tool and picks ???
I found this tool. http://www.ipdusa.com/version.asp?st...ID=0&V_ID=6637
I talked to a freind last night that told me someone sells a tool that has two different ends that works on a bunch of different cars with the bucket and shim setups.
And last but not least how much are the shims from Volvo ???
Thank you for the reply TIPSI.

Okay... So the tool is $35.00. Cool cheaper than I though.
I used the shims that ipd sent with the kit, and bought some picks. I don't know how much or if Volvo sells the shims. Some people go to the junkyards and remove as many shims as they can get and then measure the thickness with calipers.
fcpgroton.com should have shims like ipd does.
