93 940 driver seat stuck
I have read all I can find to resolve this without starting another thread. My problem is the seat will move all the way forward as it should but about a third of the way back before it stops dead in the same spot. I have pulled the seat and can not find anything physically wrong with the track or gears. When it stops the motor also stops no sounds at all? any ideas ? all help appreciated I would love to drive without my knees in my chest.

the far drive gear is attached to the motor with a flexi-shaft... the end of this drive shaft is stuck into the motor with a square end pushed into a square hole... the tip of this can get chewed up such that it doesn't engage right and the seat gets jammed in the tracks. One cure is to disconnect the motor end of this flexishaft and trim about 1-2mm off the 'sheath' so the square shaft sticks out farther, then reassemble it all.
I do remember at one point having a penny get jammed deep in the track, and hidden by dirt/grease, and act as a hard stop. it was quite hard to see.
OR, do you have the memory seats? they have a much more complex controller under the seat, with memorized limits, I think there's a procedure to reprogram this if its lost its mind. Thankfully, mine didn't have those (our old 960 did, but it was still fairly new when it was wrecked so we never got into this sort of problems).
