93 940 wagon oil leak return
Well I thought I fixed my original oil leak with a flame trap replacement but now I have it back again. It drips from the fly wheel shield. Is that normaly a main seal leak? If so, is it a matter of unbolting the transmission and dropping it enough to reach the seal and replace it?
Sounds like the rear main seal to me.You will have to remove the trans and then the flywheel to replace the seal.
NOTE: If you do it mark the Flywheel before you remove it.

Thanks Tech
I bought the seals today for both the rear of the motor and the front of the transmission. Remind me again of why and where I should mark the flywheel. Also is there any other things to remember when I pull the tranny while I am there. I assume I should rent a tranny jack, remove the drive shaft and cross member, take off the fly wheel guard and then what should I find or do next. Just unbolt the transmission? Sorry for all the questions but it is my first time working on a volvo tranny.
Thanks Gary
