Question 940 Engine sensor/switch

Hello,

Can anybody tell me what the whitish switch/sensor in the following link does?

http://www.kudria.com/projects/vehic...0turbo_187.jpg

I have a 1993 940 and I just discovered that nothing is pluged into this switch/sensor on my engine, and I can't find any loose wires in the engine compartment.

Thank you,

Kevin

The bottom hole is normally capped off. The upper left is a drain petcock.

the drain petcock is for draining the coolant from the engine block, after you drain the radiator via its lower hose fitting.

Thank You !!!

I noticed it when I was replacing the header pipe, from the bottom of the car, and I thought that it was a sensor or switch.
