Default 940 Headlight Assemblies

I'm needing to replace the entire headlight assemblies on a '93 940 wagon. Currently have the combination headlight/foglight style and would like to convert to the large single bulb. I'm thinking that would produce brighter light but are those assemblies interchangable? Any sage advice out there and suggestions for finding non-dealer source options? TD

Uh, uh! Unless you change the fenders, grille, corner lights, etc. Besides the lights you have now are glass (at least the headlights), while the "single" type are plastic and yellow badly.

and, dont the grills for the fog-lignt cars stick out differently and not line up with the no-fog hood? most of the 9xx cars I've seen with fogs have had the aluminum hood with the hidden wipers...

The 960's, '91 940SE have the long hoods, some 940's also have the "foglight" fronts with short hoods. The front parts are the same...
