Default 940 turbo radiator

I own a 940 trbo and I can not locate the radiator cap. Does it have one or is it self contained? Joe

That's weird. Reson I ask is last owner only used water and no antifreeze in summer. So how do I drain water and replace with freeze before rdiater cracks frozen

drain the radiator through the bottom hose. there may be a plug on the radiator bottom too. then fill with coolant mix through the overflow bottle. burp the hoses to eliminate bubbles.

Default 940 Radiator

If your 940 is a turbo there is a spigot kind of thing near the remote oil filter/oil cooler that you can also use to drain all the water out of your engine. It require a 12mm wrench. I'm not familiar with non turbo 940's.

that spigot on the block will take nearly forever to drain the block, and won't totally drain the radiator.

the lower radiator hose is the correct answer

never ever use plain water except in an emergency on a vehicle with alloy heads... you NEED the anti-corrosion agents in quality antifreeze/coolant.

do note, 92+ 7/9's have a different larger radiator than older models, at least I know the turbos do.

the "spigot" is to drain/flush the block. all b230s have it. it is not possible to drain the radiator out of there-physics... the cooling system should be flushed to clean the block, heater core, etc. just run some water with flushing agent to operating temp., drain again.
