Default Radiator question for 940 Turbo, 1991

The plastic neck on the top of the radiator is leaking and I need to replace it. I have noticed that Parts Web sites sells 2 types of radiators for the 91, 940 Turbo sedan. They have 2 row (42mm) and 3 row (52mm). How can I found which one I have? Is the 42mm/52mm height meassurament of the radiator?

Thanks,

Those measurements don't sound right...but you can measure yours to get an idea. Generally I believe ALL 1991 740-940 take the same radiator, it changes in 1992 as they switched to an electric fan...

I did take a meassurement of the original one while in the car. It looks like in SI Units the height is ~42mm and length is ~56mm from side to side. The Web site offers 2 types, 2 row 42mm and 3 row 52mm. All of the them are for 91 models. My fan is belt driven but radiator does have a 2 plug connector switch on the top passenger side. I am not sure if this switch is relavent as both types of radiators have then too. I am confused and don't want to buy a wrong one.

i assume it's CM rather than MM... centimeters vs millimeters... Sounds like yours is 42CMs. That switch is a temp switch and they all have it-it just pushes in there and stays there without falling out, a mystery!

Thanks tedv.

You are correct, it is in CM. I have called ipdusa guys and they told me that all 740/940 Volvos back then came originally with 2 row core (42cm) radiators. The 3 row (52cm) were invented to provide extra cooling and will fit no problem as there are a lot of space in the engine bay for it. No extra parts are required. The switch I referred to is for electric fan for cars equiped with AC. Since I live in foggy SF, extra cooling is not required, therefore I will go with a 2 row core radiator (42cm) one. Thanks for all your help.
