940 wheel adapters
Good morning,
New 940 owner here, already received great information from this group, thank you!
I have a garage full of 5x100 rims and tires (VW guy) and am looking at wheel adapters to go from 5x108 to 5x100. I know there are folks who are doing this so I am asking who do you trust for the adapters, specifically hubcentric adapters. I have several sets of rims/tires which with 25mm adapters should have the correct offset to clear struts, etc.
Thanks for any information!!

A good resource for you is wheel-size.com. When adapting wheels there are three key values 1) bolt pattern 2) center bore and 3) offset.
You have the bolt patterns (VWs being 5x100, Volvos being 5x108). The offsets vary by car/rim width but generally speaking VWs are going to be 45-50mm and the RWD Volvos are 20-25mm. This says a 25 mm adapter is about right. Finally is the center bore. Not sure what year your VW rims are from but for my 2012 CC, the center bore is 57.1mm. The 940 probably has a 65.1 mm center bore. Given these cars are hub centric (meaning the hub/bore centers the rim, not the bolts) you need to find spacers with a hub equal or smaller than the bore for the rim and the car's hub. If there's a difference, you can probably find hub centering rings (go metal vs plastic if you can find that size) to convert to match the rim/hub size. Should be easy enough to find on Amazon or eBay

thanks for the reply, yeah, I have no problems with the math on this, what I am seeing is if anyone has a preferred vendor or has a recommendation on anything they like. VW/Audi cars are 5x112 with a 57.1 center bore, so a direct fit would be difficult with that center bore, but most aftermarket wheels have a 73mm center bore so finding centering rings isn't an issue.

GIven this is a billet design, it should be more than stout enough :-)

would these work for the volvo to adaptor side?
Similar ones are available for 73 to 57.1...
