Hi I have a 95 Volvo 940 And it’s having trouble accelerating.when you step on the gas it just dies completely but if you Feather the throttle and slowly Accelerate you can drive it.replace the fuel pump and check the mass airflow sensor and tps sensor new spark plugs Rotor cap and button.not sure what’s wrong wondering if anyone had any ideas

 

My first guess would be air leaks in/around intake plumbing anywheres between the MAF and the head..

how did you 'check' the MAF ?

 

Sounds like the MAFS, typical symptoms...
