Air Conditioning

How hard and how much money would it cost to install an air conditioning unit/system in a '78 Volvo 245?

It has a heater and air, but no A.C.

Anyways, I would be curious to know.

Check out local shops, and get a quote. I have no idea what it would cost.

If I recall correctly (3 or four years ago) the last time I priced a R/R job for my '90 240 the evaporator, dryer and compressor was around $1200.

The best way to do this is to find a "donor" in a junkyard and get the parts. Make sure you get a 134 type refrigerant set up as the R12 is very expensive now.
