I found a nice AW71L tranny(with the locking torque converter) at the local picknpull but they always punch a hole in the engine and tranny pans to drain them. Does anyone know of a source for just the pan? I checked all the online OEM Volvo websites and no one offers them. Maybe a Toyota source? Thanks

 

I've been on the lookout for a replacement lately as well, haven't had any luck.


Might have some luck with a used pan in the wanted section on turbobricks.

Or.....here's a thought - since it already has a hole, why not tap it and screw in another drain plug? Wow! sometimes I even impress myself!

 

Yeah of course brother!! I see them all the time like that, but its usually with a rubber grommet!!

hmmmm, thinking about this, if they used some sort of spike and hammer tool to punch that hole, what are the odds they didn't damage the labyrinth valve plate thats just above the transmission pan?

Good possibility. Something to check. Depends on the amount of clearance between valve and pan?
