Battery hold down bracket and bolt
Hi guys this should be easy, i need to secure my battery for inspection but i can't see where I'd put the replacment bolt and bracket, my chiltons has no pictures or instruction. Any pictures or advice?
OK, that's better.
I assume you have the long rod, aka "bolt' that secures the plate, and the plate?
And a battery that has a lower "lip" where the plate latches on? Should be size 47 or 48 battery.
If you have all that, simple: there is a threaded hole in front of the battery's tray where the rod goes through on top of the tiedown plate which once in place is supposed to press down on the battery's lip and secure the battery by tightening the rod. You may want to unclip the head light socket to see better down there--sometimes it's hard to see the hole and line it up with the plate's hole.
