Default Bleeding brakes

I replaced the master cylinder in my friend's car and need to bleed the brakes. She has a 1990 240 wagon. If I go by the Haynes Manuel, it tells me to do the left rear first, the front outer etc. Can I just bleed the rear brakes then the front, or do I need to follow the directions in the book. Thanks for any help!
