I was just pulling the old girl out of the driveway for her bi-annual smog test and noticed this top vacuum hose dangling. Can someone tell me where this is supposed to go?

 

Goes thru that grommet to the vacuum tank used to power the floor, defrost and recirc vents.

Hey Hoonk, you are a world of advice and freely give it out! Thanks! I did not know where that hose went either!.Thankfully, mine is intact, so far.
I have a vacuum hose question you may be able to answer for me.
I am still trying to figure out how to solve the issue of my 93 240 with a high idle. I have to solve it before I can take mine in for its smog test.
Where on my system, LH-2.4 would you recommend I plug in the smoke machine hose to detect vacuum hose or fitting leaks?
