Default bypass turbo?

740 turbo, 249,000

leaking oil at turbo badly, bad enough I don't want to drive it anymore as it smells and I really don't think it's healthy to be breathing burnt oil...

can I bypass the turbo if the mechanic (this tues), can't find/stop/fix the turbo leaks?

if so...how?

the only thing you can do is to force the wastegate flap open. this should route most of the exhaust out.

just remove the turbo and replace it is the best way.

wait for others

A turbo car probably won't run very well without boost. They just aren't designed to run without it. If it's still boosting then who cares if you smell a little burnt oil.
