Default Can i use an 80amp Alternator in place of a 55amp one?

So many moons ago i got a big bunch of parts from skandix finally got round to fitting a new Alternator i got, i'm way wiser now than i was so before i go fitting anything i wanna check. So the alternator i got was the 80.
The original is a 55.
Am i good to throw it in? Pretty certain i can if i remember my studies rightly but pays to be certain because i genuinely cant afford to blow any parts (100 dollars in my currency to ship one timing belt is absurd)

The voltage regulator controls the output voltage. Current output is whatever it takes to maintain the voltage. Ohm's Law, E=IxR. If R is low (a lot of things turned on) I is increased to maintain the voltage.
