I went to a volvo guy today at a shop and he helped me out alot and gave me some good advice and told me what to fix myself and what he would do for me to make my car run well. He said to drain and replace my powersteering fluid bc it was black and thick. When he told me what kind he said "Type F Fluid for Auto Transmissions". Can someone explain exactly what that means? I dont think it means to put in Tranny fluid?? Or what should I use for powersteering fluid..

 

Yes, Automatic Trans Fluid is what the P/S takes.

Type F is generic you could say... Just go to the store, and you'll see-it says it on the container...

 

Just use Dex/Merc ATF...it is bright red in color...
