Default can't get impeller blades off

So I'm trying to get to the blower motor on my 1986 Volvo 240 DL and I'm up to removing the "impeller blades" and neither one of them will come off.

What I've done so far:
  • removed the little clip from each of them
  • sanded off any rust I see on the exposed screws
  • rotated them clockwise and counterclockwise to see that they move freely
  • used both hands and tried to just pull them off with extreme force and they each moved about a 1/4" towards coming off but won't move any more now in either direction (meaning I can't even slide them back to where they were originally!)
  • I also rotated them clockwise and counter clockwise while I tried pulling the blades off thinking this might loosen something up but with no luck
I saw this old thread here (https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-...problem-76654/) where the guy says to "pull with steady force" and I've done that with no luck except for the 1/4" of movement I've already described.

Any suggestions? Tx.

I used some WD40 and put hands on 12,6 clock position, give it some 'rock' while pulling. Those impellers were really trick to remove.

I actually put some "Liquid Wrench" on them, waited a few minutes, and then they both came off with a little bit of force. Tx.
