Default 1988 240 wagon blower motor swap problem

So i have dove into replacing the dead blower motor in my 240 wagon. I have the whole dash ripped apart, all clips removed from the sides of the blower motor cover. I removed the clips that secure the plastic impeller fan blades, but i cannot get them off of the shaft. Ive tried sanding the small amount of rust off of the blower motor shaft, spraying it with lube....yanking on it....neither side will come off. they slide about 1/4" and then get stuck on the shaft, as if they are getting stuck when the groove on the shaft is going thru the impeller blade.....What am i missing? Any advice...please?!?!?!??

Ah, had to read that a few times. Advice: Pull hard and steady. They will come off. I had a hard time getting mine off, but just lots of steady force. I had the same thing--the go for about half an inch, then out the come. Getting them back on is also not so easy. You are probably on the right track to sand off any rust, but past that, just pull. Don't get any tools on it, or you risk braking the impellers, but it should come out.
