Chronic Gas Consumption

Ok, this morning I set out to get the worse mpg on my way to "thirty 3". The route is 3.6 miles and through 3 neighborhoods as bad as a bike trail. I believe there is 7 speed humps/bumps, some of which cause me to slow down to 15 mph or less. I was hitting 45 mph between bumps, hitting around 4,500 or better at times. Verdict is that I still got 13.8 mpg. All that to say this, Something have to be bad wrong to get under 15 mpg.
I was driving a Saturn one day and was getting about 3 mpg. Pulled over to find gas pumping out behind the left / front tire.

1.Park on some incline, go to neutral with foot on brake. Release he brake, if car moves...'freely' to wards down hill, the callipers are not dragging, if the incline/slop is minor.
2.The hanging callipers will 'heat' the wheel hub, but it needs checking 'differential between front two, or rear two...provided one of the rear is NOT hanging..to remain at ambient ralative to the other which "IS".
But proper way is to jack one wheel free of the ground....of course but to go thru all four does take good effort and time compared to quick dirty check..as explained in 1. and 2...above
I've seen on my cars NOT driven for long, and then the damn drag, because of load, also 'delays' the shift of auto transmission....another indicator. In some case sthe hanging Cal heated the rortor and hub and also the barke cyl and then fluid somuch that the boiling fluid comes back to master cyl and ruins it...which 'HOLDS' pressure, as disc brakes ve NO return spring..
Have gone thru it twice....the local mech always wants to "REBUILD" the callipers..and not think of the ruined master...damaging the slaves 'again' !

How does that compare to highway keeping @60 mph, and going for a length of at least 30 miles to see if you indeed you need 1.5g or 2.0 g to refill to 'same' level to ''spill'...?
Local driving for short distances can be disastrous...particularly if you ve a traffic light, that has been programmed to not to change...if it detects you as a driver..LOL , while idling...but changes as soon as u shut the engine off !!
