Default Cold start question..

I'm having cold start problems that just began since the temp has been around 35-40 F. '92 745 GLA w/ 100k

New to me from Grandma and a Flordia car in great shape. Got it on the road end of summer and it's been running great. Now stalls when cold only when you start to give it gas. I don't think it has a "fast" idle when started cold (have to check that). Will idle and idle in gear but not when you get on the gas. Runs fine after 5 minutes.

This screams temp sensor to me or some other cold start circuit but I keep reading about vac leaks in lines and/or injectors causing probs like this....

Comments... Thanks, C.

The orings around the injectors can get old and leak but then you usually get a rough idle until it has warmed up. I think you are right about the coolant temp sender you also might try cleaning the idle air control motor under the intake manifold. (this is how the computer controls the idle)

Thanks Jeepster... I retired my '69 Commando plow rig about 3 yrs ago. What a tank in the snow!!

I drove the Brick in question for myself over the weekend. Starts right up and idles. The instant you touch the gas, the bottom drops out. Let up and it's back to stable idle. Revs up with no load. Warmed up enough to drive in about 2-3 minutes.

Any more ideas?
