I would like to take this opportunity to introduce, myself. My name is Frank. I live in Miami and my son has a 1992, 240 sedanthat he is having a problem with. I am sorry that my first post is a question. I am very familiar with how helpful a forum can be. I am amoderator on the V-Rodforums.com. He is having a problem as follows: It will turn over and run for approx. 2 seconds and then it dies. If he continually pumps the gas pedal it with stay running but only ata very highrpms and when he let off the gas, it immediately dies. Hehas replaced thefuel pump and the fuel filter under the car andhe still has the same problem. He is on a very limited income and is looking for any help you can provide.

OK to continue from the other post.
Have him make sure the in tank pump is woking. If not some main pumps aren't powerful enough to get the gas out of the tank. It is even worse if there is less than a 1/2 tank of gas.

He checked the fuel pump andit is working. When he disconnects the mass air flow sensor and starts the caritdoes continue to run, just not very well. When he plugs it back in the car shuts off.With that said, do you think that is the problem? Where is the least expensive place for him to purchase one? Used will be OK.

Yes that sounds like it might be the problem.
I would shop around for the best price. You might even be able to find a good used one somewhere.
