coolant leak 93 940 Turbo
Hi, this is my first post.
I have a 93 940 Turbo. It has 178k. I'm worried about a coolant/oil leak it has developed since I bought it two years ago. The leak started as a small spot that I noticed when I bought the car, nothing to worry about, just a small leak. Now its bigger, and I'm losing coolant a little faster than before. I am worried about my head gasket, the leak is coming from the area where the head and block meet on the driver's side, beneath the air intake manifold. I took it to the mechanic for a routine service and they said that it was a head gasket leak, but they did not give me any recommendation for fixing it. Is this because it is nothing to worry about or is it because they think I'll just bring it back to them when it blows? I included a picture to help illustrate the problem, the leak isn't rapid and my coolant is clean. I don't know what to do, should I fix the HG now or not?

my 92 turbo had a slight coolant leak on the exhaust side, which gradually got worse, then 6-8 months later, blew the gasket and lost all compression so it hardly ran, had to park it and get a tow to the shop. once it was fixed, and ever since, its run like new.
its your call, fix it now at your convenience, or fix it later when its decided to go. I wouldn't take it on any road trips til its fixed.
