Do the 240s normally have 2 fuel filters? Also DW pump question
Pretty simple question but im dealing with a project car so all bets are off. This car has a 5.0 swapped in it with a converse kit. It was a turbo car before it was swapped.
My 240 wagon has the inline fuel pump and fuel filter still in tact under the car. It also has a fuel filter under the hood on the firewall driver side. It looks like its custom and has a fuel line with an elbow on it going to the ford 302 rail. Do these cars normally have 2 filters? Id like to ditch one most likely the under hood one. Have 2 filters plus a fuel pump sock is overkill imo.
Under hood filter in question:
Also...Im looking at a DW200 for my 240 and was wondering if this universal one is the best bet? Also what other parts would I need asides from the pump itself when switching the intank over to the DW200.

Volvo only had the filter by the pumps under the back seat. I'm kinda surprised the volvo pump provides sufficient fuel flow rate for the 5.0 under WOT conditions.
none of your pictures/links came through so I dunno what this DW200 stuff is.

Stock Volvo pump is going to be replaced with a 9-201-1000 - DeatschWerks Universal In-Tank Fuel Pumps.
Sorry this link should be good:

maybe compare prices to rock auto , yes there is the sending unit,
More Information for ÜRO PARTS 1367253
and a screen at the end of the hose
More Information for BOSCH 68008
last time I did this, the screen at the end of the hose ad turned to crap and rock auto lists a bunch , the cheapest is only like 2 bucks.. I found myself with the pump out waiting for the strainer to come int he mail so get that too.. at least.
I'd do the sender , pump and the screen but it depends on your budget and whether it's a beater or your prized baby, and how much the downtime affects you life.. It's all a bunch of plastic that lives in the gas with alcohol and the plastic degrades in time.. so consider all 3 ?
check your year and whatnot in case there is a change I don't want to be the cause if the part number isn't right..
are you thinking you need a bigger pump than stock ? you have a 5L v8 in there right? Im not sure about that.. the volvo does circulate the fuel back to the tank so maybe it's ok?
Not sure how many Litres per minute you need or what the stock one makes. I tried using an old one as a solvent pump once and it seemed to move more fluid than I can imagine even the V8 burning.. I had lost a lifter and cam and so I dropped the pan with the engine in the car and used an old in tank pump and some buckets so I could hose all the metal chips out.. eventually It got some grit in the pump and it got stuck so I'd say the screen is important.
with lower pressure systems, having a clear filter in the engine bay is nice so you can see if it is getting dirty but I guess with the pressure needed for the fuel rail there may not be a lot of see through filters you could use..
