Do I have computer codes on 1987 240
I have been following the troubles of Beardog, thankful I don't have the same problems. My old and deceased 1979 245 had a similar problem that went with it to the grave. But I digress.
I have a 1987 240 in wonderful condition due to a lot of money spent by the previous two owners. When they finally gave up spending money, Ibought anAir Mass Sensor and drove it away.
So to my question. I know my car is fitted with a computer, but can I access the codes? I have seen nothing in my Haynes book. I know I will regret it if I don't find this out. I live in Australia where Volvo mechanics drive gold plated cars, or so it seems.

If the car has OBDI it the box will be mounted to the L/S strut tower under the hood.
For a description on what it looks like and how to pull codes check out the link.

Thanks for the help. The site you recommended also provided codes for my Ford.
My Volvo, however, is apparently too early for codes which start at 1989.
Many thanks
