Door Handle Repair

Its pretty easy, but potentially not easy...
1. Remove the small Philips head bolt which is facing the door jamb. This holds the rear of your handle in place.
2. Take apart your inner door panel and then look at the area behind the handle. You should see a bolt that you need to remove.
3. If this bolt cannot be undone, then you have to get creative to hold the captured nut which is inside the handle. You can remove the outer door handle trim and possibly wedge something in there to remove the nut.
Why do you need to remove the handle anyways? If its due to a sticky door handle, sticky, some lithium grease sprayed in the right places will take care of it.

I'd remove the door inner panel and weather liner FIRST, then pull that big phillips screw near the latch.
but, yeah, short of it being actually broken, there's little reason to take it out, you can shoot aerosol white lithium grease into all the pivots with a little straw if its sticky.
the key lock comes out seperately, too.

Thanks for the response, guys.
Something has broken or become detached from the handle which renders it completely inoperable, just flopping in the wind so to speak.
My guess is that I have to get in there to reconnect or replace whatever it is that's causing this handle not to work.
My primary concern is just getting the inner panel and weather liner off. For some reason I have a mental block or anxiety about taking the panel off and not being able to get it back in properly. I think I may have seen enough in videos that will get me going on that part. If I need anymore info I'll ask.

a huge help on removing the trim panel on a 240 is a set of 'trim tools'. these are like little plastic crowbars of assorted shapes, that let you pry up trim fastener snaps without marring the plastic/vinyl bits. I got a bag of a dozen assorted tools for like $7 or something from fleabay, cheap chinese stuff, but thats what they are.
