Exclamation Driver's Side Power Window Not Working

Hello Everyone,
I wanted to come here and ask for a bit of advice regarding my 1993 Volvo 240.

To put it briefly, a few days ago, I accidently left my two rear windows down just a smidge, and a little bit of rain got into the car. After that occured, the driver side power window would not operate (but all of the other power windows work correctly). I can hear the motor whurring on the front driver side window, but it does nothing in terms of moving the window. When I get it so that it is in the full up position and the motor no longer engages, I can move the window up and down with my hands, and when I push it down, the window rests on something in the window well, so it does not go all the way down.

I think that the motor / regulator should be replaced, but what else could be wrong? Could the window just be off of its track?

I'd really appreciate any help or input on this matter!

Thanks,
Buzzbrick

The leaving of the windows open is unrelated. You'll have to take out the door panel and see what's going on... The motor is working, the regulator is metal with some plastic pieces that might have come undone or broken. Dig in! That's how you learn... Once the panel is off you'll be able to see what's wrong pretty easily.

Once you pop the door panel off, the inner workings will be somewhat obvious. I find it's much easier to work on the window regulator with the window lowered about 2/3's down. The regulator is an X with a pivot point in the middle that often fails after a few million uses. If nothing strikes you immediately as wrong, pop the passenger door panel and compare the mechanisms.
