Default dumping raw fuel into cylinders

I have a 1987 240, over 300,000 miles. Has been running rich until warmed up, finally would not start. Pulled plugs, turned engine over, spitting raw fuel out of cylinders. Is there a common cause for this? Help! Thanks..........

Make sure the fuel pressure regulator isn't bad.
Also do you have spark?

Most of the time when they go bad they dump fuel into the intake manifold.
Take the vaccum line off the back of the regulator and see if it is filled with gas.
You could also have a problem with the engine speed sensor.
