Default Engine swap - just curious

Since 740's and 940's use Toyota transmissions would a Toyota V6 bolt right on? Or is the bell housing different? Just curious.

afaik, the bell housings are different, just the guts of the transmission are the same design. the AW70/71 are made by Aisn Warner specifically for Volvo.

At least they didn't use a Mazda transmission like Jaguar did when Ford bought them, and practically destroyed the company. I heard those trannys can go at at 50 - 75,000.
