Default Exhaust header pipe

Trying to track one of these down locally for my '92 940 GLE. Proving to be easier said than done.

All kinds available for a '92 GL, nothing going for my GLE.

Pretty sure this is what I need, part number 3531809:

Just can't seem to find it locally. Stealership can get me one, in time, for $550.. That's just too much. I've gotta be able to find it cheaper from somewhere not the dealership.

About this part with and without EGR.. Best I can tell I need without, like it looks in the image.

This pipe with an EGR looks like

Right?

GL vs GLE just refers to the trim level more than anything else (although in various years, different engines were commonly associated with different trim levels). which engine do you have, B230F w/ Regina or B234F (16V?) or Turbo ? And, with or without EGR ? If its got EGR, there will be a funny little 'top-hat' shaped EGR vacuum controller in front of the left suspension tower, with two vacuum hoses coming off the side facing the engine, and a 2 wire electric connector on the bottom.

afaik, the EGR connects to the exhaust manifold before that downpipe. that thing shown on the picture is the oxygen sensor.

my parts catalog suggests non-turbos might use...

w/o EGR 9139285 or WITH EGR 3531809 but Tasca says these are for 1994,1995 cars and are $200 at their price.
rex-regina 4-doors with VIN -98623, 3514975. Tasca lists this part as also $200 (MSRP $312) but doesn't list any application.
a 1992 turbo uses 9146796, which tasca has for $173

'92 GLE should have the B234F, thus the problem getting it. There may not be too much difference but without laying them side by side, hard to tell...

ok, 16V (B234F), my Vadis says...

* 9135305 1992- ALTER 2 replaces 1 pcs 3531809-6, 1 pcs 1255118-7, 3 pcs 978343-2

it appears 3531809 IS the right updated part, and TascaParts.com has these for $201 (MSRP $312). shipping will probably be $$ because its such a large part.

oh, there was another PN, 3531810 and THAT shows up in tasca as superseded with 6842565, and fitting select 1992 940, but Tasca seems to only think there's a Turbo and a GL model in 1992, they only list the 16V GLE in 1991 (which this fits also) :-/

this part 6842565 is MSRP $285 and Tasca price $211.

As far as I know its a 16V B234F

Kind of sounds like 3531809 might be my number. It's what the guy at the dealership settled on, but I could tell on the phone that things weren't making sense to him, like the GLE didn't show up for him like it doesn't show up for us.. I can't find a site that lists more than the Turbo and GL models for '92. When I put my VIN in a decoder online, it doesn't recognize it.. How is that even possible?? :/

My exhaust is in rough shape but I'll snap some pictures, see if that helps figure anything out. Don't laugh.

So there is an EGR atop the header pipe and that is the oxygen sensor in the pic.

Reached the point where I can't cobble anymore. Last night's cobble job lasted about a block.
