I'm stock 850 owner and I'm fairly new to the 240's. Racing/heavily modded 240's make a whole slew of crazy noises I'm unfamiliar with. Here's a example vid...


What is the chirp sound and what is the pop sound? Thanks

 

to the 240 section

 

the popping that almost sounds like gunshots is probably backfiring, from running way rich. last engine I heard doing that much backfiring was a heavily modified chevy v8 running on methanol with 8 straight pipes and mechanical fuel injection, when you backed off going into a turn, it sounded like a large caliber chain gun.

dunno what that squeak squeak is, could be suspension (poly bushings squeak a lot if they are under-lubricated), could be intake noise from some kind of monster turbo?
