Feel of B200 vs B230
Hi all!
I asked this question in the comments of another thread, and thought that I might as well make it a thread itself. I'm looking to buy a 1991 wagon, but the engine is a B200, ie a 2.0 Litre. Does this seem significantly slower or more sluggish than the B230? Does it impact acceleration, and handling greatly? Would I be better off waiting until I can find one with the larger engine?
Kind regards

Most of us on this forum are in the US and 2.0 was never available here. We had the 2.1 before the 2.3. I rented a 2.0 740 in 1990 in Europe which is my experience with that motor. However, US versions cars were quite choked up with emissions equipment back then so I wouldn't be surprised if a 2.0 is quite a decent performer comparatively, displacement, as they say, is not everything. Of this vintage, if it's a nice car I'd jump on it providing you like how it drives. There are many more things to worry about in a Volvo that age than the size of the motor, and I am sure your choices are not that plentiful.
