My wife told to get rid of the Volvo that I just bought because she cannot drive it since it is a manual. (The dang thing is so easy to shift!) Anyhow, I went to craigslist and started looking around. I immediately fell in love. Some rancher guy is selling a 1990 745 Volvo Turbo Wagon for $650 with 173K on the engine. I had to pinch my self just to be sure my eyes weren't deceiving me. So I called the guy up and he says it is still available. I go and take a look at and the thing is pristine condition! Ofcourse, there is the normal wear and tear on the interior but I was amazed for what condition it is in. Even the body is straightI took it out for a spin and it drives like a new car. Best of all, it has a turbo! Wife loves that. Then he says, he is the original owner and it's all highway mileage. So I bought it on the spot.

Now I am going on my rampage to get the car as good as new. For some reason, the guy took off the roof rack. Any idea where I can get a used/new one besides the junkyard?

Looks can be deceiving! The oil, tranny fluid, PS fluid and rear diff were all black. I am surprised that this car is still running the way it was treated. The seller even stated that he changed the tranny fluid at 170k. Right.

Then, again, what can I expect for $650? I am slowly bringing her back to life but DAMN she drives as if she were new right now! I wonder what she is going to be like when she is all fixed up?

BTW, I live in Central Oregon. Anyone want to buy my older Volvo that I replaced this with?

 

What model are you trying to get rid of?? BTW as far as the roof rack, keep an eye out on here. turbobricks.com and Volvospeed.com.. You are more likely to fi.nd one on turbobrick.com since that forum is geared towards the old bricks but I have seen them pop on here once in a while

 

It is a 1982 Volvo 245 with 233k on the engine for $650 or best offer. Runs like a champ except it needs some TLC in interior and exterior. See pics.
