If anyone is interested in the area, I found a turbo at black road auto recycler in santa maria. it was just the turbo, and no other parts. I believe it was on a b230 engine. I dont really know the condition of the unit.

 

spin the compressor wheel and wiggle it. that checks for shaft play.
also there should be a tag on the turbo telling you the model.
IF it is a mitsubishi turbo, it will have a TD04H- number
If it is a garrett turbo, there is a A/F number on the inside of the exhaust housing.
