Default fuel line 85 244gl

I have this issue with my fuel line, from my main fuel filter to the magic smurf village it goes to in the engine compartment. The fuel line is really hard and gummy, to the point I can't really fit it to anything or get enough grip on it to jam it to the end of the fuel filter outlet nobber thing, and I want to replace it. I went to the auto parts store and they want 7 bucks a foot for fuel injector hose but I don't know if that is what I need or if I can use something much cheaper like the regular reinforced hose. Do I have any options with this or should I go with the fuel injector hose?

Also, I bought this last year thinking it's what I needed for this: Heavy Duty Vacuum Emission Hose Kit but this isn't what I need correct? Am I correct with the information this hose is only to be used inside the engine compartment?

Vacuum hose can not be used as a pressurized fuel line. Your fuel line is made of hard plastic, perhaps nylon. You will have a tough time finding mreplacement hose except from a parts car. It is supposed to be hard, the gummy portion is probably the undercoating they sprayed all over it. I highly recommend not jacking with it unless you have a specific reason. To get the fuel line over the banjo bolt it is necessary to heat the hose and quickly insert the ****** fitting. Obviously, you do not want gasoline around while you heat the line.
