Default good'ole inner tie rods...

so here's the deal. i've got an '87 240 dl. since i've had it(8 months), it's had a vibration while moving from around 40-60mph. from reading around the forums, talking to my brother who is also a mechanic, and doing a little inspection of the front end, i think i've determined it to be the inner tie rod ends. i've replaced the drivers side outer, and that wasn't too hard with a little help from my brother. i would have him do the inners but he's four hours away now, so i'm either going to have to do it myself, or take it somewhere. i feel like i could do it myself (may take more time than others), but i don't want to kill myself if i don't do something right.

so based on your experiences how difficult is this project and (more importantly) what's a general procedure for getting this done. any tips learned from the process are greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance

It is pretty straight foward and pretty easy.
Remove the outer tierod.
Remove the lock nut.
Slide the boot off after removing the straps holding it on.
The you will probably need a pipe wrench to loosen the inner and replace.
Then reinstall everything and you will need to have an alignment done afterwords.

Thanks!

I'm ordering the parts this afternoon with the intent to get the whole thing done this weekend, I'll let you know how it goes, hopefully it'll be a pretty good time.
