1993 940 inner tie rods
Hi everybody,
I tried to remove the inner tie rods on my wife's 1993 940, but called it a day after I did not find any flat space on the rack shaft where I could get a grip on with a wrench or vise grip. See attached photo.
Other threads said there is supposed to be a flat space.
Oh, yeah, this is a Koyo steering rack. There are two notches to the inside of the flange. You can see one of them in the photo.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Finally got around to the inner tie rod job. I've heard on some posts that it is a good idea to put Loc-Tite on the threads of the inner tie rod going into the rack. Is this a good idea? Also, on one of my replacements, the inner tie rod did not come with a locking washer tab, so I had to hammer down the original washer (which was pried open for removal of inner tie rod) and re-use it. This washer is pretty critical, right?
