Default Replacing the Inner Tie Rods - Should I Do Any Other Work While I am There

I had my dealer replace my outer tie rods less than a year ago. I took my car in for an oil change last week and he tells me I need new inner tie rods. He wants like $700 to replace and do the alignment.

I think, I am going to do it myself (obviously not the alignment).

I saw Bigern45's post here: https://volvoforums.com/forum/volvo-s80-18/changing-inner-tie-rod-21416/

I have a few questions.

1) Anything else I need to know about the inners?
2) Should I replace the outers while I am at it?
3) Anything else I should consider while it's apart?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Eric

Are you less than 12,000 miles as well since they were replaced?
If so they should cover them under the 12 month 12,000 mile warranty.

Default 1,200 mile warranty

The warranty would cover the "outer" tie rods. I need "inners."

I am just wondering if I should do the "inner" and the "outers" since I have the thing taken apart.

What about the the ball joints - should I consider doing them?

Eric

Ok sorry I misread above. The outers will be fine for a while.
I would inspect/feel the balljoints and see how they are.
