Default hard starting

Hi folks, I have an interesting problem with a 245 D fuel injected. From cold start it starts fine, after being stopped for less then 5 minutes it starts fine, and after about 2 hours being stopped it starts fine. Between that 5 minutes and about 2 hours though when it start it's like a wooly goat, on about 2 cylinders and rough as hell for 5 seconds or so then its fine. Fuel pressure and filters have been checked. Any ideas welcome.
Thanks

Sorry it is actually a 245DL - I didn't realise the "L" had been missed off. The engine is a 4 cylinder petrol engine - 2.1 litre with fuel injection.

When it starts hard, like a wooly goat , shut it off real quick before it smooths out, and check the plugs. They might be flooded with gas, or bone dry. By the way, what is the weather like in South Australia?
