Have fuel and spark, still misfire
Hey guys, just picked up a 85' 244 wagon, clutch was shot, I just finished replacing it. Got it started, runs great... on 3 cylinders.. #2 cylinder is not firing. Pull the plug wire, nothing. So much gas in the exhaust it burns your eyes. Tried new plus, new wires, no cap and rotor, tried switching injectors from a different cylinder, nothing helps.. Any ideas?

From experience working on Volkswagen, bad coil would be all cylinders, Its getting spark at the plug, and is getting fuel, was going to do a compression test tonight when I get home. The engine does have 300k miles on it, but I have receipts dating back to 92', the old lady took it only to Volvo specialist shops. If compression test comes up ok. Im pulling the head off the engine.
note that all 4 injectors run off the same control signal too, so the only unique thing in the injection is the actual injector itself.
but... I've had to throw out several 'brand new' aftermarket spark plug wire sets. the crud sold at places like NAPA etc, 'SUPER PREMIUM SILICONE YADA YADA", pure unmitigated junk. the sockets don't fit right on the plugs, the wire develops invisible cracks, etc. I'll only use Bougicords for Volvos, and Bremi for Mercedes Benz., nothing else.

I have tried a known working set, no go
I would perform a compression check next. A bad coil would be bad for all cylinders. All signals point to one cylinder with internal problems. If one cylinder measures low or no compression, the head must come off for a check of the valves.
